I bought a Galaxy Watch 4 one month ago. it was performing well; I did not face any issue with this watch. But it has been locking itself for a few days. I just needed to unlock it for payments and after unplugging it from the charger. This is the issue which many people are having with their Galaxy Watch 4. Restart

Restart from Quick Panel
- Swipe down from the watch face
- Go to the Quick Panel
- Tap on Power button
- Then tap on power off icon from popup menu
- Long press the Home button to turn it back on
Restart from the Physical Buttons
- Press and hold Home and Back key same time
- Long tap on Power off from the power menu
- Press Home key to turn it back on
Force Restart
- Press and hold the Power and Back key together at least 8 seconds
- After this a Power off symbol appears on screen keep pressing the buttons
- Release the buttons while you see watch is restarted
Remove the Security Lock
If your Galaxy Watch 4 keeps locking you should remove the screen lock.
It can be the permanent solution to prevent this problem.
But also your Galaxy watch couldn’t ask to enter your pattern/pin to do a payment.
But you can get rid from unlocking the watch several times a day. Your watch will stay unlocked, even after its sleep.
You can follow the steps to do this:
- Swipe up from the watch screen
- Go to the Settings
- Tap on Security
- Then tap on Lock
- Now tap on Pin/ Pattern
- Enter your Pin/Pattern to conform
- Scroll down and tap on Non
- Tap on the checkmark✔️ to conform
If you have set up a Samsung pay then your Samsung pay will be restored.
Now you can check the screen is disabled completely.
Install Update
Another method which can solve this problem is to update your watch software.
First of all you’ll need to check for the latest software update.
If there are latest software updates available and you have not installed it to your watch.
You need to install it immediately because the software update removes all the glitches.
Samsung Galaxy has improved all the tiny issues which are not noticeable to the user, and also can solve the lock issue.
You can check and install update by follow the steps below:
- Make sure watch have at least 30% charged before starting the updating process
- Open Galaxy Wearable app on your phone and connect watch to the app
- Go to the watch Settings
- Tap on watch software update
- Tap on Download and Install
Clean the Backside of Galaxy Watch 4
One of the most common reasons that cause keep locking the watch. You should check the backside of your watch.
There will be debris on the backside of the watch. This dirt came from our wrist when the watch was worn on the wrist.
If you could not clean your watch backside the sensors will not work properly and the watch can keep locking every time.
