A few days ago, I faced an issue with my Fitbit Charge 5. It’s not syncing with my iPhone. 

Here we take a cursory look at the possible solutions: 

Check your Fitbit Charge 5 that it is completely charged. If its battery is drained out, you will not be able to sync it. Close the Fitbit app and, open again, turn on and off the Bluetooth. Also, reset the Fitbit Charge 5 and your iPhone.

How to fix the Fitbit Charge 5, Which Is Not Syncing With iPhone.

Check Battery 

The first and foremost step to solve this issue is ensuring that your Fitbit Charge 5 battery is ultimately charged. 

If its battery is drained, you will not be able to sync it with the iPhone. Because Fitbit has a feature that when its battery is low, you cannot sync it to your devices. 

To sync it with your iPhone, plug it into the charger and unplug it until it’s charged 100%. Then try to sync with your phone. Hopefully, it will be connected if it has no serious issue. 

Turn On and Off Bluetooth 

The second method is to turn on and off your iPhone’s Bluetooth. Because all the files and activities are syncing through the Bluetooth connection to the Fitbit app. 

Turning on and off Bluetooth will remove the minor glitches and caches resistant to syncing the Fitbit Charge 5 to the iPhone. 

You can do this by following the steps below:

  1. Go to the settings
  2. Tap on Bluetooth 
  3. Turn it on or off

Re-Establish Connection 

The third method is to re-establish the connection between your Fitbit Charge 5 and Fitbit app. 

First, if you have already connected the Fitbit Charge 5 to the Fitbit app. You have to remove it from the app and then pair it again. 

Re-establishing the connection will refresh the connection between your Fitbit Charge 5 and the app. Also, it will remove all kinds of caches that can resist the connection.

Unpair Fitbit Charge 5 from iPhone

  1. Open the Fitbit app on your iPhone
  2. Under the account, tap on the Fitbit Charge 5 
  3. Scroll down to the bottom and tap on remove the Charge 5 

Pair Fitbit Charge 5 with iPhone 

  1. Open the Fitbit app 
  2. Under the account, tap on Setup a Device 
  3. Find here your Fitbit Charge 5 and tap on it 
  4. The policy page appears; tap on Accept 
  5. Connect your Charge 5 to the charger 
  6. Then a searching screen appears, and the band will be connected 
  7. Then enter a passcode into the app which you receive on your Charge 5 
  8. A pop-up will appear for Bluetooth pairing request 
  9. Tap on pair, and then a pop-up again appears Link Fitbit with Charge 5 
  10. Tap on Ok and follow the on-screen instructions 

Re-Open Fitbit App 

If you have applied all the above settings, the Fitbit Charge 5 does not sync with your iPhone. You should excite the Fitbit app and re-open the app on your iPhone. 

This process can solve the syncing problem with your Fitbit Charge 5. And refresh the connection between your Fitbit Charge 5 and iPhone. 

When you are trying to sync with the Fitbit app. You should excite the app and then open it again on your iPhone. 

Install Fitbit Charge 5 SoftwareUpdate

Another method is ensuring that your Fitbit Charge 5 is up to date. Because the software update also can affect the sync process. 

Fitbit has made some changes to the latest software version. And also remove the minor glitches which are not noticeable to the user. 

You should check for the latest update from the Fitbit app. If any kind of software update is available, you have to download it immediately.

  1. Open the Fitbit app on your iPhone 
  2. Tap on the profile avatar icon from the top left side 
  3. Scroll down to the help and support
  4. Tap on help and support 
  5. Then tap on Check for update 
  6. If the latest software update available update now button will be appear 

Update Or Reinstall Fitbit App 

Updating and reinstalling the Fitbit app can be a possible solution for this issue. You should check for the latest software update, and if available, then install it. 

And also, you can uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app on your iPhone. This process will solve all the problems which your Fitbit app has. 

You can do this by following the steps below:

Reinstall the app 

Uninstall Fitbit app

  1. Touch and hold the app icon
  2. Tap on the Delete app 
  3. Then again, tap on the Delete app

Install the Fitbit app 

  1. Open the Apple app store on your iPhone
  2. Search for the Fitbit app 
  3. Tap on the Install button 
  4. The Fitbit app will automatically install on your phone 

Update Fitbit app

  1. Open the Apple app store on iPhone 
  2. Tap on the profile icon 
  3. Check here for available updates 
  4. Find the Fitbit app if its latest update available 

Restart the Fitbit Charge 5 and iPhone

You have to restart if the following issue is still not solved. You have to restart your Fitbit Charge 5 and iPhone. 

Restarting your devices will solve the Fitbit Charge 5 sync problem. And also, restarting your devices will remove caches and useless files stored on your device. 

You can follow the steps below to do this:

Restart the Fitbit Charge 5

  1. Swipe down from the screen and go to the settings
  2. Tap on settings and scroll down 
  3. Select Restart the device 
  4. Tap on restart the device 
  5. Then tap on the restart button and wait for a few seconds until the Fitbit logo appears 
  6. It will turn on automatically 

Restart iPhone 

  1. Press and hold volume down and power buttons together until the power off slider appear 
  2. Drag the slider to power off and then wait for 30 seconds until it powers off 
  3. To turn it back on, press and hold the power button until the Apple logo appears on the screen 

Factory Reset Fitbit Charge 5 and iPhone 

At last, if you are facing the issue that your Fitbit Charge 5 is not connecting to the iPhone. Then absolutely, you have to do a factory reset. 

A factory reset will refresh your device and remove all the caches. A factory reset will also remove your activity and history data. 

Before performing a factory reset, ensure you have a backup of all your data and activity history. 

You can follow the steps below to do this:

Reset the Fitbit Charge 5

  1. Tap on the band screen to wake it up 
  2. Swipe down all the way 
  3. Tap on settings and scroll down 
  4. Then tap on info and scroll down, then tap on clear data
  5. If you want to proceed, hold the button for 3 seconds 
  6. After 3 or 5 seconds, your Charge 5 turns back on 

Note: doing the factory reset, you will lose all your entered activity and history data. So make sure you have a backup of all of your data. 

Reset iPhone 

  1. Tap on settings and then General 
  2. Then tap on transfer or reset 
  3. Select Erase all content and settings 
  4. If you have set up a security password, then it will ask you to enter this password 
  5. Then tap on the confirmation message that you want to erase the content 
  6. Wait for your device to erase the content 

It depends on the device and how long it takes to erase the content and data. 

Note: Make sure you have a backup of all your data and contact information.
