Restart Galaxy Watch
If your Galaxy Watch is counting steps while you are sleeping. You should restart your watch because restarting the watch will resolve some minor issues and glitches. And also, refresh your device to perform all the features softly.

- Press and hold the Home button for 8 to 10 seconds
- Release your finger from the button, and your’s watch starts Rebooting

- Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your connected phone and sign in to your account.
- Tap on watch Settings and then tap on watch software update.
- Tap to Download or Install
- For some Galaxy Watch series, you will need to tap on About Watch or About Band to access the software update menu
Automatic Update
- You will see an option Auto Download Over a Wifi under the Download and Install update section
- You can toggle it to turn On if you want to install the update automatically on your watch
The latest update will automatically install on your watch when connected to a Wifi connection.
Update Watch from Itself
Note: You cannot update the Fit and Galaxy Watch4 Series without connecting to the mobile phone. And also, these steps only work if your watch was set up separately from a phone.
- Ensure you have charged the watch at least 30% because if the battery is not charged at least 30%, you may not be able to install the update.
- Press and hold the Power/ Home key and navigate to
- Tap on Settings
- Then tap on General.
- Select Watch Software Update; if there is any update available, tap on Download an update
- While the software update is applied to the watch, your watch will reboot automatically, and the progress wheel rotates on the screen.
Factory Reset Galaxy Watch
Once you have restarted and updated the watch software, your watch still does not stop counting steps while sleeping. You should do a factory reset on your Galaxy watch to prevent this problem.
If you are doing a factory reset on your Galaxy watch, you should ensure that you back up all the data. Because a factory reset can wipe all the user-entered activity and history from the device.

Reset Galaxy Watch through Physical buttons
Go to the watch settings> Account and backup> Backup Settings> Choose what type of activity and files you want to back up and then tap on Back Up.

- And now swipe down to select Factory Reset.
- Then swipe right to perform a reset; once the reset process is completed, swipe right again to perform a Reboot.
Reset Galaxy Watch with a Galaxy Wearable
If you have connected your watch to the Galaxy Wearable, you can reset your watch from the Galaxy Wearable app.
- Open Galaxy Wearable on your mobile phone and log into your account
- Select Settings
- Then tap on General
- Select Reset
Once a Factory reset is completed, your watch is thoroughly cleaned up, and all the caches and glitches will be removed. Now the watch is refreshed, you can check that it’s working correctly.
Reinstall Galaxy Wearable App
If the Galaxy watch is not fixed, you should reinstall the Galaxy Wearable app on your mobile phone. When you reinstall the Wearable app, it will be repaired if it crashes.

- Unlock your phone and swipe to access your Galaxy Wearable app
- Long press on the app icon, and a pop-up menu appears on the screen; then tap on uninstall from this pop-up
- Firstly open the Play Store (Android) App Store (IOS) and then tap on the search icon
- Type “Galaxy Wearable” in this search bar
- Select the Galaxy Wearable app from the search results
- Tap on the install button and wait once the app completely installed on the phone
- Create or log in to your Galaxy Wearable account
Update Galaxy Wearable App
Once you have reinstalled your Galaxy Wearable app on your mobile phone if it cannot fix the galaxy watch. You should check for the latest update for this application. If there is any latest update available, you should install it immediately.
- You can install the Galaxy Wearable update from the Play Store (Android) App Store (IOS).
- Tap on the search icon and search for the Galaxy Wearable app
- Tap on the Galaxy Wearable app from a search result
- If there is any latest update available, you will see the Update button instead of Open.
- You can tap on the install button to install the newest update.

- Once finished, tap on the Send icon to send this report to the Galaxy support
